The public votes are in and verified, and I’m absolutely over the moon to be nominated as one of the top 5 LGBTI entrepreneurs in Scotland.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who voted for me, I really do appreciate your support.
The Icon Awards mean a lot to me on many levels; both personally and professionally. Scotland has come a long way in accepting the LGBTI community but there is is still some work to do.
To me, The Icon Awards are unlike any other awards I’ve been involved in before. Being part of something personally, professionally and culturally significant allows me to contribute to delivering an equal and inclusive message in the business world – this means more to me than any badge that comes with the title of being a finalist.
‘People Make Glasgow’ is our city’s slogan, and it’s no surprise that we would play host to such an event. The variety of award categories is incredible and the sheer number of votes each has received has been incredible. I get the feeling that the 9th of October is going to be a night to remember. With people flying in from as far as LA and Austria to be part of the night, it’s very exciting to be part of an event that is going to put our country on a world stage, beaming the message of equality.
Good luck to everyone in every category. Let’s use this platform to make a difference!
