Client Case Study: James Gray Recruitment

Moving office can be a very exciting time for your business but it can also be rather challenging. Whether you are opening, closing, moving or relocating you will want to consider your IT network, it will play a major role in how your business is run and where your staff are located.

At pcr, one of our unique and most popular services is our management of office moves. We moved to our office here in Speirs Wharf in May 2013, so we understand exactly what needs to be done to ensure a smooth and successful relocation.

Most businesses these days rely on an IT infrastructure to carry out day-to-day tasks, making sure that your IT requirements are met for your staff moving into a new office is critical to maintaining productivity.

In January we handled a move for one of our long standing clients, James Gray Recruitment when they expanded and moved from their office in Thornliebank to their lovely new office in Govan as part of their expansion plans.

James Gray Recruitment are recruitment specialists immersed in the construction and engineering industry. Developing a thorough understanding of the marketplace takes time and that is why James Gray Recruitment can claim to be experts in this sector.

Both pcr and Abica were involved in assisting with the office move and we were delighted to be able to provide our expert support for all their IT and telecoms requirements.

Together we moved all of their IT equipment and supplied lines, we were also able to move their phone system and cabled the entire new office.

They first approached us about their move towards the end of last year, which was perfect because it meant we were able to put together a comprehensive plan. We visited their new space to scope it out, creating a network map and strategy for the move. There are so many more logistical factors to consider when moving office, often many more than people first think, particularly if you’re moving into an older building.

Included in this particular move for JGR was their existing server.

To do this we disconnected their server and all workstations in their old office, and we physically moved it via the pcr van (even we need to get lo-tech sometimes) and reinstalled them in their new office.

With everything they needed in place, our client had peace of mind knowing that all their IT requirements were met and ready to go for the staff moving in.

We have worked with James Gray Recruitment since 2012 we always enjoy getting to know their team because like us, they are experts in their field. We were originally brought on board to upgrade and improve their infrastructure and we have supported them ever since, so it was great to be able to assist them in their move and support them through their expansion as they grow.

This case study is another example of how pcr can help you if your business decides to move to a new office. We can scope, survey the site, plan, implement and provide ongoing support throughout your entire move. So if you have a move in your calendar for this year give us a call for a chat about how we can help.
