Lets face it, we humans are not the best at adapting to change; moving house or office is a disruption of your routine. And any disruption of your routine causes stress. Even we find change a challenge sometimes! In May 2013 pcr expanded and relocated to our modern new office here in Speirs Wharf, so we understand exactly what is required to keep everyone happy. In this blog, we focus on a client case study of an office move we managed recently for reputable architecture and interior design company, ICA.

Most businesses these days rely on an IT infrastructure to carry out day-to-day tasks, making sure that your IT requirements are met for your staff moving into a new office is critical to maintaining productivity.

ICA recently expanded, relocating from their office in East Kilbride to a larger and more central office in Glasgow’s bustling Merchant City to house their growing staff team.

We’ve worked with ICA since last Autumn and we always enjoy getting to know their team because we’ve found that we often share the same ethos and approach to business, they too pride themselves in being dedicated to project delivery.

They asked us to manage their office move entirely, providing support to relocate all their IT and telecoms infrastructure – a perfect opportunity to demonstrate our dedication to project delivery!

We have a great point of contact at ICA and working together with them we were able to put together a plan that meant the project was delivered on time with very little disruption.

We handled the move of their servers, as well as networking equipment to make sure that their existing setup was not lost in transit. We also installed some additional hardware, which was all procured and supplied by ourselves in order to support their expected larger workforce.

As part of the Abica group, we were also able to provide ICA with telecoms support during the move. Abica handled the installation of new a phone system meaning that their staff were able to get started as soon as they entered their new location for the first time. Abica also provide ICA with backup internet connectivity as part of a disaster recovery service.


ICA’s relocation to the Merchant City represents a big move up for them and there is further growth ahead, so it’s very much exciting times for their business and we were thrilled to play a part.
