Client Case Study: Bell Russell & Co

Bell Russell & Co are a firm of solicitors in Airdrie, Lanarkshire who specialise in a range of legal practices.

As we already have a number of law firms on our client list, they approached us for support when updating their ageing IT infrastructure and of course we were delighted to assist.

Their IT network needed modernising and a full upgrade of hardware and software was required; a new server, all new desktops, new backup solution, security and new networking equipment. So it was a full service project for us from start to finish, implementation and then providing ongoing IT support.

Bell Russell & Co are a great example a business going through a period of IT change that we are seeing more regularly, in that now is the time to decide to move to the Cloud or not.

As your technology department it is essential for us to learn as much as we can about your business, how it operates and where you see it going. This allows us to build the best custom solution that suits your business needs for now and for the future.

In our initial conversations with the client it was clear that they were uncertain about moving to the cloud or remaining with a traditional server. However, after we looked further into the company and using our understand of the legal profession we were able to identify that a hybrid solution would be most suitable for their needs and budget.

We installed a New Dell PowerEdge Server running Windows Server 2012 Essentials, Microsoft’s server solution for companies with less than 25 employees who want to connect to the Microsoft Cloud (Office 365) for hosted services. This allowed staff to benefit from the many advantages of a cloud based platform like access anywhere anytime to their documents and their work. We also proposed the client subscribe to Microsoft Exchange in the cloud, improving email resiliency throughout the company.

We sourced and supplied all new computers, meaning everyone was coming in on the Monday morning to fresh desktop suites within zero disruption to day to day business – which is vital for any SME.

We also migrated the company onto pcr Support and Maintenance, we provide day to day support for all their IT needs. We monitor and maintain their network, ensuring everything is always performing.

Company Cashier, Jacqueline Torrance, said, “Monday was a normal working day, we didn’t expect things to be up and running as quickly as they were which was great as everyone could get on with their work. Really happy with the performance of the new solution and with the support provided by pcr.”
