We are looking to recruit an ambitious and passionate individual to take the role of 2nd Line Support Technician. The successful candidate will become a member of our escalations team, handling support cases as well as occasional on site work. The Helpdesk is dedicated to supporting an estate of over 70 servers and 900 users across a rapidly expanding client base.
You must have experience in the IT support industry at 2nd line, and have excellent knowledge of the following technologies:
- Microsoft Server technologies (Server and Small Business Server 2003, 2008, 2011 & 2012)
- Microsoft Exchange
- Structured Cabling (small scale planning, running, punching and crimping)
- Server/Desktop/Laptop hardware and software
- Cloud Hosted Technologies
- Knowledge of the following would be desirable but not essential:
- Apple OSX
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Microsoft SQL
- Virtualisation Technologies
- NAS Technologies
You must have excellent fault finding skills and a strong ability to learn new technologies. From time to time, you will be parachuted into situations to resolve complex technical issues, having to not only manage yourself, but also the technical team around you and most importantly, the client.
Customer service is at the heart of the company. Clients’ expectations should be exceeded wherever possible, ensuring that users have an appropriate level of understanding as to what we are doing for them. You will be able to organise your own time and workload, be dependable, punctual, flexible, organised and have a full clean driving license. Own transport desirable, but a shared company van will be available when required.
Shift patterns are flexible but typically 37.5 hours a week, you will be required on occasion to partake in project work out of hours, however there is an element of reactive work. When our clients need us, our clients need us!
